RICHARD M. GERSHON

Richard Gershon is a 1958 graduate of St. Lawrence
University and a 1963 graduate of the University of
Virginia where he earned his LL.B. degree. He was
President of the Schenectady County Bar Association in
1980, has served as Treasurer of the NYS Bar Association
and as Vice President of the New York State Bar
Association of the Fourth Judicial District. In
addition, Richard has served on the Executive Committee
of the Insurance, Negligence, and Compensation Law
Section of the NYS Bar Association and the Executive
Committee of the New York Bar Association itself.
He was Chairman of the Client Security Fund of the
NYS Bar Association. He was the Chairman of the Third
Department Committee on Professional Discipline in 1980
and 1981 and was the President of the Northeastern New
York Chapter of the Defense Research Institute in 1982.
He is a member of the Federal Bar Council, the
International Association of Defense Counsel, the
National Association of Ski Attorneys, the New York
State Bar Foundation, the American Bar Foundation,
American Board of Trial Advocates, and New York
State/Federal Judicial Council Advisory Committee.
Richard is a Fellow of the American College of Trial
Lawyers and is included in the Best Lawyers in America.
Richard is one of the most well-known and well-respected
trial attorneys in upstate New York. He has
successfully defended product manufacturers, hospitals,
physicians, and other professionals for the past 38
years. He continues to provide all his clients with the
knowledge, experience, and expertise necessary for the
defense of all types of complex civil litigation.
Throughout his lengthy career, Richard has lectured at
